When you’re uploading your media, you’ll notice a little checkbox that says ‘Available for Distribution.’ Checking or unchecking this box can mean very different things for your media.
What happens when you check the checkbox?
By checking the ‘Available for Distribution’ box when uploading a media item, you’re essentially allowing that image to be pushed back to your brand or representation company for distribution to the third-party travel sites. If the box is checked, the images may be shown on the various channels within our VNetwork (i.e. Expedia, Priceline, Kayak etc.).
What happens when you uncheck the checkbox?
When you uncheck the box, you’re preventing the image from being used by your brand or representation company on the various channels in our VNetwork. Unchecking the box will remove the photo from whatever channels it was previously published on.
How is this different for branded vs. non branded hotels?
If a branded hotel or a hotel that works with representation company checks the box, the image will be pushed back to the brand/repco and can be used in their image feeds to the various channels within our VNetwork. Non-branded hotels or hotels that are not associated with a brand will need to purchase a VScape license in order to have their media pushed out to the various channels within our VNetwork.
