Once your content has been loaded to VScape, it may require some management. VScape gives you a variety of solutions for managing. Let’s start with editing the content.
In VScape, navigate to the image you want to manage. From here, you can edit the caption or the category simply by clicking on the edit button located at the bottom of the far right panel.
Captions should be very descriptive and provide a quick splash of information regarding your hotel. With category, there is a drop down list to choose from but it is always recommended that your choice is accurate as to what is being shown in the photo. Incorrect categorization could weaken your rating on some OTAs.
If you no longer want an image stored or distributed, delete it from your VScape library. Simply choose the image you no longer want, click on the delete button at the bottom of the right panel. Please ensure that you are absolutely certain you have chosen the correct image to delete as images removed from VScape cannot be recovered.
If you want to keep the images for future use but currently don’t want them in distribution, VScape can handle that as well. Choose the image or images you no longer want in distribution, and click on the inactivate button at the bottom of the third panel. The images will remain in VScape until you remove them or until you reactivate them for distribution. This is a great way to manage seasonal photos in distribution.
If you’d like to choose the thumbnail or hero image that will display on syndication channels, use the ‘Enable Sequence Modification’ tool located at the bottom of the middle panel. Click on the sequence button and drag the image you want to set as your thumbnail to the top of your image list. Click, ‘Save Sequence Order’. This will automatically queue up the property to send out the update on all of our feeds.
If you subscribe to our Leonardo Digital Library, you can specify whether you want an image to display in the digital library only and not get distributed to the OTAs. Again, choose the photo you’d like to display in the library. Click on the ‘Distribution’ button located at the bottom of the right panel. Choose the option of ‘Set PDL Distribution Only’. This image will now show that it is set for the Private Digital Library only and not out for distribution to the OTAs.
Any editing, sequencing, adding, deleting or deactivating of images in VScape will automatically send the updates to the syndication channels. This is why it is important to be certain about all changes to content before proceeding.
