More Detailed Categories for Hotel Media
Leonardo is getting ready to deliver on a highly-requested feature from travel channels – more detailed categories in our Standard Outbound Media Synchronization (OMS) feed.
Come October, in addition to the OTA categories, hotel media will be further classified with Alternate Categories, identified as “alt_categories” in the OMS feed.
Alternate Categories Launch October 2017
With Leonardo’s Alternate Categories, media can be labelled with an added level of detail by hotel chains before it’s sent to your channel. The added Alternate Categories are more granular and will provide channels greater insight into the subject of the visual content.
For example, in addition to the OTA category “Guest room”, you’ll now receive additional detail in the Alternate Category field such as “Standard Room”, “Deluxe Room”, "Superior Room" or “Suite”.
Action Steps for Channels
As a channel, it’s up to you whether you’d like to use this added level of detail to help classify and manage the way you process visual content from hotels.
Depending on your implementation of the OMS feed, the new Alternate Categories may impact the way you ingest media from Leonardo. That’s why we wanted to give you a heads up before we make this change to ensure you have no concerns.
Please review the implementation guide for Standard OMS consumption. If you have any concerns about the new Alternate Categories affecting how you ingest media, please let me know. If you don't have any concerns, you'll see this update to your feed in mid-October.
