When you see your property every day, its unique features can begin to look mundane.
Ask yourself the following 5 questions to gain a new perspective and rediscover your hotel story:
1. Why do guests choose your location?
Be specific. Why is your property in an ideal location? Is it close to local attractions? Local businesses? Which ones? Let your guests know what they’ll find. It will help them understand the type of experience they’ll have during their stay at your property.
2. What’s complimentary for guests?
Everyone wants to know about the complimentary features included with their stay. Let them know what you offer! Is there a complimentary breakfast? Shuttle? Wi-Fi? Does your property offer complimentary access to the fitness center? Swimming pool and whirlpool? Business center? Do the guest rooms include a microwave, refrigerator and flat screen TV? These complimentary features can ultimately make the difference when travel shoppers have to choose between your hotel and others in the area, so spread the word.
3. What services are available?
Travel shoppers want to know what your hotel offers outside of the guest rooms. Do you offer flexible meeting space? How many people can it accommodate? Do you offer catering? On-site dining? Convenience is important and busy travelers often want to know if they can eat, meet and sleep on-site.
4. How do you keep your hotel current?
No one likes to stay at a dated property. Travel shoppers want to know how you keep your hotel current. Do you offer updated features? Did you replace your old TVs with new HDTV flat screen TVs? Tell your potential guests if you recently renovated.
5. What makes you proud?
Some hotels stand out among others in the eyes of many. Has your property won awards? Does it have certificates from TripAdvisor? Maybe you have stellar reviews? Travel shoppers know that you like your property. Validate that by letting them know who else agrees with you.
Now that you've rediscovered your hotel story, share it with the world!
